Community development

Nawaya is committed to creating and facilitating employment opportunities for women in rural Egypt. Despite inheriting priceless skills and knowledge in heritage food, many women are unable to capitalize on them, resulting in underemployment.

Simultaneously, there is a concerning trend of youth losing interest in farming and traditional recipes, jeopardizing thousands of years of culinary culture and contributing to the rise of diet-related diseases. Through initiatives like gastrotourism and community campaigns, we aim to address these challenges. By engaging with women and youth, we can preserve and promote heritage foods, highlighting their importance for our health, the environment, and the local economy.

Join us in safeguarding our culinary heritage and empowering our communities for a brighter future.
